One afternoon when I was in high school, I got off the bus only to find that my Mom wasn’t there to pick me up. Every day, she would kindly wait at the end of our long farm road to save me the twenty-minute uphill walk. Where was she? Boy, was I upset. It was raining so bad out.
I couldn’t believe she forgot!
I trudged up to the old farmhouse, muttering the whole way. She always picked me up, every single day.
I couldn’t believe she forgot!
I finally reached the house, a drenched rat. Mom met me at the door with a strange look on her face. She looked out at the driveway, then back to me.
“Jane, where’s the car?”
And that’s when it all came back to me. That morning, Mom had reluctantly let me drive her car to school for the first time. But by the end of the day, on autopilot, I had taken the bus home.
I couldn’t believe I forgot!

So it’s not easy finding royalty free photos for the site. I just noticed when I posted this that is says Ecoliers on the bus. Ecoliers is not a school district, but means “schoolchildren” in French. That said, it’s sort of funny, and I’m keeping it!

How about when you showed up to work still in your pajamas with the dog on your lap 😂

Too funny! I bet she was actually highly amused!

Haha was my mom she ever highly amused? Needless to say, I never drove the car to school again. And here I’d congratulated myself all day that I hadn’t locked the keys in it…

Funny, Jane! Completely unrelated to cars but I remember going to grade school one day and my jacket felt a bit uncomfortable but it was pouring and I was in a crappy mood so ignored it. When I got to school and took my jacket off it had two hangers in it, with a shirt hanging on each.

That is the best story, ever.
